Ingredients

1 cup (200g) granulated sugar

1/2 cup (100g) packed brown sugar

1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup (130g) all-purpose flour

1/3 cup (40g) unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1 cup (175g) chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)

1/2 cup (80g) chopped nuts (optional, such as walnuts or pecans)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Mix Sugars and Butter: In a large bowl, combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and melted butter. Mix well until fully combined and smooth.

Add Eggs and Vanilla: Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder until well mixed.

Incorporate Dry into Wet: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Mix until just combined; be careful not to overmix.

Fold in Chocolate Chips and Nuts: Gently fold in the chocolate chips and chopped nuts (if using) until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Scoop the Dough: Use a tablespoon or cookie scoop to drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still slightly soft.

Cool and Serve: Remove from the oven and allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy your fudgy brownie cookies!
